North OS is the internal design system behind North® Studio’s client work. It gives each project a tested starting point that can be themed to any brand.
Challenge
Every project started from zero, so designers and engineers rebuilt the same components again and again.
Approach
We built themeable tokens, a core component set and documentation written for both designers and engineers, maintained by a rotating group from both disciplines.
Result
New projects now reach their first prototype in days rather than weeks, and accessibility checks are built into the core components.
